As mentioned by one of our leads, I get pulled out of VFX retirement occasionally to actually do some real work. Here’s one where I provided the VFX for the Heavy Metal intro cinematic. Complete with the Sepiks Redux music from the Destiny: Rise of Iron Original Soundtrack. This was a ton of fun, and I got to work with snow again!
A lot of others contributed to this including amazing animation from Nick Whitmire; layout from Jane Kim; weather system from Justin Hayward, Mark Goldsworthy and others (back from Beyond Light); lighting from Mike Poe's lighting team; Heavy Metal game mode from Bill Gross, Combatants and PvP teams; Misha Mansoor's awesome guitar on the soundtrack; and many more.
